Who We Are

Hunting is an ancient tradition passed down from the earliest times of man to the present day. Hunters participate directly in the natural world and care enough to make sure that it continues in all of its awesome beauty and diversity.

Safari Club International is a U.S.-based organization of more than 50,000 hunters dedicated to protecting the right to hunt and to promote wildlife conservation worldwide. Between SCI and its sister organization, the SCI Foundation, we have put more than $70 Million on the ground for conservation since 2000. In the U.S. and abroad, hunters are part of a system that keeps the rivers, forests and fields intact and maintains the wildlife.

SCI Members, Chapters Helping Rural Communities in Africa

Recently, SCI Members John and Judy Sholes returned to South Africa for a safari with Blaauwkrantz Safaris. They brought along a personal donation and a donation from their National Capital Chapter, Washington, D.C. that Blaauwkrantz used to repaint the local rural school, Palmiet River Junior School, in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

2015 SCI Lobby Day

SCI's Annual Lobby Day was a rousing success! This year saw a 23 percent increase in the number of SCI Members participating resulting in SCI having 20 percent more meetings. Overall, SCI met with a third of Congress in one day to express our concerns for hunting related issues.

Hunting With a Suppressor

Suppressors are legal to own in most states, and many states allow them for hunting. A suppressor does not "silence" a shot, but makes it possible to hunt safely without hearing protection. They also reduce recoil.
