The legislative session in Virginia is in full swing. While hundreds of pieces of legislation have been introduced, one is of particular interest to Safari Club International Members – a bill to allow Sunday hunting on public land.

House Bill 1632 was introduced by Delegate James Edmunds. It removes the requirement that a person who is hunting on a Sunday do so only on private property.

This bill broadens an exception to the prohibition against hunting or killing with a gun, firearm, or other weapon any bird or wild animal, including nuisance species, on a Sunday.
