One of the most strategically effective partnerships in the hunting and conservation community finally became official last week as Safari Club International (SCI) and the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) enshrined their alliance in ink. The two organizations signed a ceremonial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in recognition of a decades-long shared commitment to advancing legislation and shaping policies that benefit the hunting community and wildlife conservation efforts across the country.

The MOU was signed at an event hosted by CSF at SCI’s 48th Annual Convention in Reno, Nevada. The reception included an impressive list of speakers including Jim Shockey and the Governor of Alaska Mike Dunleavy, who recently joined the Governor’s Sportsmen’s Caucus facilitated by CSF. Leadership from both organizations also provided remarks at the event.

“It was certainly an honor for me to sign the MOU on behalf of SCI. I have witnessed the growth of CSF these past years and there is no other organization in D.C. or in the individual states that compares to the role that CSF plays in educating legislators on Sportsmen's and Sportswomen's issues,” said SCI President Steve Skold.

“CSF appreciates the opportunity to formalize a long-standing working relationship with SCI on sportsmen's policy and engagement,” said CSF President Jeff Crane. “SCI has been a long-standing supporter of CSF and the continued partnership will strengthen the progress in conservation that we intend to make as we work together on policy priorities,” said Jeff Crane, President of CSF.

“SCI has been a strong supporter of CSF since the organization was founded 30 years ago, and SCI has contributed over $1.5 million to CSF since 2002.  This MOU will only strengthen our partnership going forward,” said SCI CEO Laird Hamberlin.
