Wyoming Gives Hunters Grizzly Planning Role

Oct 14, 2017

Hunters and groups like SCI soon will be able to weigh-in on Wyoming’s management of its newly delisted grizzly bear population in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will host several informational meetings where the public can learn about grizzly bears and their management from wildlife managers.

These meetings will present an opportunity for interested parties to comment on all components of grizzly bear management.

The tentative meeting schedule includes:

  • Nov. 8: Casper and Laramie
  • Nov. 9: Sheridan
  • Nov. 15: Jackson
  • Nov. 29: Green River
  • Nov. 30: Cody
  • Dec. 4: Lander

When the WGFD announces specific times and locations at the end of October, SCI will publish the information.  More information about grizzly bear management and education efforts is available here.

Safari Club International has consistently supported the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem grizzly delisting and the return of grizzly management to state wildlife authorities.
