North Carolina WRC Holds Migratory Bird Hunt Meetings

SCI encourages all sportsmen and women who hunt migratory birds, including waterfowl, in the Tar Heel State to attend the upcoming NC Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC) public meetings.

The WRC is seeking public opinion about migratory bird hunting on Sundays, which is currently prohibited. It has hired a research firm to conduct a statewide study of attitudes about hunting migratory birds on Sundays, including its social and economic impacts.

House Bill 559, backed by SCI and enacted in July 2017, made a number of improvements to the Outdoor Heritage Act, including directing the WRC to complete a research study on the biological, economic and social impacts of hunting birds on Sunday.

Each WRC meeting will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the following locations:
Tuesday, Dec. 12
