The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will meet March 21-22 to discuss several wildlife management issues, including modifications to big game rules and grizzly bear hunting opportunities.
The meeting will include a public hearing at 7 p.m., March 21 at Washington Group Main Auditorium, 720 East Park Blvd. Public comments will be heard at this session. The meeting continues at 8 a.m., Thursday, March 22 in the Trophy Room at Fish and Game Headquarters at 600 S. Walnut St. in Boise. The March 22 meeting is open to the public, but the Commission does not take public testimony during that portion of the meeting.
The Commission already has a framework in the Idaho Administrative Code allowing for the establishment of a hunting season for grizzly bears.
The Commission will consider the staff recommendation to direct the Department of Fish and Game to gather public input on a grizzly bear hunting season framework in anticipation of a possible Fall 2018 Idaho grizzly bear season.
