Part of the excitement of the annual SCI Convention are the diverse items that will be auctioned to help fund the continuing fight to preserve and protect our hunting heritage. The auction catalog is starting to fill up and the 45th Annual Safari Club International Convention is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever! Here’s a look at some of the items available for bids.

Model CA-2000 palm-size revolver w/SCI logo
Model CA-2000, palm-size revolver designed by Dick Casull donated originally by SCIF Sables. Member Herb Hazen had graciously contributed this donation to the Sables, only to have it stolen in 2003 before it could be presented to the new owner. It has since been recovered. The revolver is engraved with the SCI logo. The Model CA-2000 is the culmination of years of design and innovation and is a tribute to Dick's ability as the 'premier firearms designer of our times.' Blaser S2 Safari Double Rifle
Elevate your standards and enjoy the refined German engraving by Josefine Grobel on a Blaser S2 Safari Double Rifle in .470 N.E. Imperial Grade donated by Mad Dog Guns. The rifle is a display of profuse gold inlay, depicting Roman Gods; on the bottom of the receiver is Mercury. It has a butt stock magazine with a gold inlaid Caduceus. The stock is Grade 11 wood with Roman themed carving. The grip cap has a gold inlay of Caesar, the triggers are gold in a gold trigger case along with a gold locking lug. The left side receiver displays an image of Zues and his chariot; the right side receiver has an engraving of the God Jupiter; the barrel release is a Roman eagle. An Original Oil Painting by Linda Besse titled 'Alert' donated by Besse Art. This piece painted by artist Linda Besse, SCIF 2014 Conservation Artist of the Year, was inspired by Linda’s encounters in the wild. The first time Besse spotted this cheetah she was approximately 100 feet above him in a hot air balloon over the Masai Mara. Before she knew it, this cat was running for an impala and successfully landing his dinner. The oil painting measures 36-in. X 30-in. and is complemented with custom framing.
